The Third largest expat population is of the Filipinos. Filipinos are generally working in the hospitability sector and as housemaid in the Local Arabic Families.
The newspapers are filled with the news of Domestic Violence that is taking place against the housemaids.
Generally the Filipino girls stay in a Bed space accommodation in Dubai if she is single due to high rents. A room generally cost around Dirhams 3000 to 4000 and is shared by 5 to 6 single girls.
Friday is an off day for them after a tiring week at work sometimes standing for 8 to 9 long hours at work ( Sales girls are not allowed to Sit in the showrooms ). It’s again a real torture.
There are numerous gardens and parks in Dubai some of the famous are Jumeriah Park, Zabeel Park, Mamzar Park. Most of the families do have a BBQ on the Beach or in the park.
These girls do gather on their off days and all are set for an outing. Theses park are very crowded during the Fridays and especially when the weather is pleasant. Dubai being an desert the summers are really bad.
Theses Filipino girls are have a beach BBQ on the Jumeirah Beach. It’s a nice place with a Garden and a beach which is very close.
